He's a stubborn bugger, but
he'll pull any cart he's put before
Stone, jam, grapes, tomatoes, flowers, money...
Have I left anything out? Well, he has
only himself to blame as
his greed gets the better of him
and first he lets his stable out
but when he thinks there's even more to be made
he sells everything to developers for straw,
a fatal Faustian pact between the
Donkey and the Devil.
The landlord turns the screw -
he didn't see that one coming,
he doesn't like being made an ass of
but it's too late, and he finds that
there is no Donkey Sanctuary
in this world he has created.
