Tattoo etched upon the skin
Ruby red, needle in
Turquoise features, black outline
Sacred image, lines so fine
Golden ink begins to shine
The dragon on this arm of mine
Comes alive amidst the pain
Playing tricks within my brain
The dragon rises ever higher
Like a phoenix from the fire
Coloured ink imbedded deep
Forever mine to keep

About This Blog

This blog has been established to allow poets based in the beautiful Islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey to publish their work.

Guernsey Poets is not a formal group; it is a coalition of a number of groups and individuals who wish to share and enjoy the written word.

It is hoped that this blog will encourage local poets of all ages to post their work for others to enjoy. The blog will also publish information which is of interest to poets and songwriters in the Bailiwick.

Guernsey Poets hope that you enjoy reading the poems on the blog and if you are an Islander, or an Islander in exile, please feel free to submit your work.
